DDMA Gorakhpur is currently working on a project in collaboration with UNICEF too with the project title as ‘Integrating Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change Adaptation in Gorakhpur: Strengthened Child Focused Risk Governance’. The above-mentioned project of DDMA focuses entirely upon enhancing the capacity building of affected communities by focusing on women & children; adoption of 2 villages of Gorakhpur for preparing a master Village Disaster Management Plan (VDMP); preparation of School Disaster Management Plan of 200 schools; adoption of measures followed by drafting improvised Sectorial Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) of 16 departments to deal with any severe calamity in Gorakhpur; adoption of measures to mitigate atmospheric pollutant in Gorakhpur followed by measures for enhancing Climate Change Adaptation in Gorakhpur.
