Stamps & Property Registration

tamp & Registration Department is a public department where  people can register their properties by paying stamp duty  of the property assessed by the department.  Earlier the whole process was manual but now since 2008-09,  for the convenience of the general public the whole process of registration is  computerised.

Registration of Documents

Online registration of documents has been started in Gorakhpur district from November 2017. Anyone can apply  online by  feeding their  information on the website http://igrsup.gov.in. The informations like name, parentage, address of seller & buyer and also information regarding property such as area, nature and location of the property are to be filled by the applicant. The process also includes entry of Aadhar number. Once all the detail are filled,  a token is generated.  After  receiving a token no. the  applicant  can approach concerned registration office for  their biometric authentication (thumb impression)  and photograph through  web camera respectively.  The task of registration is simple and is  completed in very less time. For the convenience of the public,  the signed copy of the rate list of last 10 years has also been uploaded and visible  on the above website.

Registration of Marriage

Under Hindu Marriage act now all the marriages are supposed to  be registered through these registry offices which are governed by the DIG, AIG, Sub Registrars at commissionery, district and tehsil level respectively.  Anyone can register their marriage online  through the portal. The important documents required for marriage certificate are Aadhar card, Age Certificate and  photos of the marriage ceremony.

stamps and Registration office mainly deals with public so to ensure timely presence and availability of officers and staff  biometric attendance  is  being marked by all officers and staff .

Settlement scheme of stamp cases

The government has started settlement scheme for the disposal of stamp cases. The scheme has commenced from January 2018 and will run till 31 March 2018. One can apply to deposit deficiency of stamp duty along with token penalty of Rs. 10/-. Public is largely getting the benefit from settlement scheme of stamp cases.
