NIC - District Centre

NIC, a name of national and international repute with a proven record to its credit, has successfully ushered a Hi-tech information in the service of nation. It is widely acknowledged for its highly organized computer service to various government departments of the Centre, States and District level administration.

NIC- Gorakhpur District Unit was established in 1988 and  since then, it has been involved in computerization of the district administration. The initial task was to generate computer awareness among the government employees of the district. Several training programmes at various levels were carried out for the officers and staff including windows98 / 2000, Application Software, generating reports and Internet, email, data transmission. This resulted in dissemination of Informatics Culture among the officials.

Once the centre started, the departments of the district took interest in using the services rendered by NIC- Gorakhpur in bringing efficiency in their work. Several softwares developed and  implemented to maintain up-to-date information.

• NIC  provides technical support to following offices, in computerization of  various projects.

•   Other NIC services  provided are UP State Wide Area Network, Video Conferencing, Biomedical references,  CENSUS, Internet services & email to Officials / Departments, LAN among offices in the Collectorate

With this brief and variant NIC activities, Gorakhpur is poised to resurgence of computerization process.
